Victim Services Case Worker

The West Vancouver Police Department is looking to hire one (1) Casual Victim Services Case Worker to join our Victim Services Program.

The Victim Services Program provides short-term support, assistance, information, and referrals to community resources to individuals who have been a victim of crime or affected by trauma within the District of West Vancouver.

Primary responsibilities for this role involve delivering front line support services to victims, witnesses, and families in a wide range of incidents, including but not limited to; sudden deaths, fatal/serious motor vehicle incidents, next-of-kin notifications, robberies, and assaults. Case Workers provide victims with information regarding available support and resources, inform clients of Criminal Justice System updates, and provide education as needed. Court orientations and Victim Impact Statement aid also form a portion of this role.

Preference will be given to applicants that have experience in a police environment, a victim services program or an equivalent combination of training and experience. The preferred applicant will also have knowledge of the criminal justice system and community services. The successful applicant will be a team player with a positive attitude who collaborates with others; can deal courteously, tactfully, and diplomatically with members of the general public, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including a polygraph examination.

Status: Casual
Compensation: $32.26 \xe2\x80\x93 $40.31
Hours of Work: On Call - Varied
Days and hours of work may vary and will include evenings, weekends, and Statutory Holiday coverage.
