Wanipigow School is a modern well-equipped Nursery to Grade 12 school with 291 students located in the community of Hollow Water nestled on the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, a two-hour drive northeast of Winnipeg. The beautiful surrounding area features an abundance of canoe routes, fishing spots and in the winter cross-country ski trails.


Qualifications:



Bachelor of Education degree and Valid Manitoba Teacher's Certificate (or eligibility for) Master's degree in education/administration and/or Certificate in School Leadership would be an asset At least five years of teaching experience and five years of administration experience Excellent understanding of current Manitoba Curricula and differentiated instruction Extensive knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life and experience with integrating Indigenous culture and land-based teaching into curriculum Proficiency in a variety of computer applications in a network environment and experience with and understanding of school-based technology Strong instructional leader with the ability to work with teachers to promote and deliver inclusive schooling Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to effectively communicate with parents, the community and foster parental involvement Ability to work in partnership with community agencies Previous success with the development and implementation of short- and long-term school-based plans Experience leading innovative and creative program delivery for students Capacity to work in and respond to a demanding, fast-paced school environment Ability to speak an Indigenous language would be preferred
