What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Regional Vice-President, Private Banking, Eastern Canada, the Vice-President, Private Banking, Quebec Southeast, is a senior enterprise leader who supports Private Banking through delivering expertise and coaching to enable optimal sales performance (business retention, profitable growth, and referrals) and a differentiated client experience. You will lead the southeastern Quebec team (Quebec, Brossard, and Sherbrooke) of high-performing Private Bankers and will focus on winning in the region by delivering on our strategic business priorities by developing Private Bankers through successful practice management activities and coaching routines and by demonstrating belief in RBCaEUR(TM)s ability to win. You will be able to work out of one of Private BankingaEUR(TM)s southeastern Quebec offices and frequent travel within the territory will be required to meet business needs.

What will you do?

  • Act as a senior Private Banking ambassador, both internally and externally
  • Develop, monitor, and adjust a multi-channel market strategy to grow market presence and deliver outstanding business results
  • Plan, implement, and monitor high-impact business development activities, focusing on activities that align to the key success factors for the team and local market
  • Ensure Private Bankers are focused on attracting, nurturing, and growing relationships with clients and focused on Private BankingaEUR(TM)s core value proposition of wealth planning, credit, cash management, and day-to-day banking
  • Follow regular coaching routines with direct reports including goal setting and observational coaching sessions to optimize business development results
  • Make strategic business decisions to attain sustainable results over the short and long term
  • Build consistent skill and confidence across the team through highly effective coaching and by fostering an environment where great work is encouraged and celebrated
  • Lead team through change by creating a shared vision of the future state, inspiring team to become champions for the change
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in senior leadership/sales management role, preferably in high net worth financial sales
  • Excellence in people manager accountabilities: drive results, enable high performance, strengthen relationships and partnerships, and lead change
  • Proven track record in enhancing employee engagement while driving growth
  • Highly effective communication skills in French and English, both written and verbal (this role requires frequent communication with head office staff in Toronto and colleagues across the country)
  • Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to lead and manage meetings
  • Analytical and creative mindset with the ability to innovate to help the business become more agile and efficient
Nice-to-have
  • Financial planner diploma granted by the Institut quebecois de planification financiere (IQPF)
  • Registration as a Mutual Fund Sales Representative and Branch Compliance Officer
  • Professional designation such as MBA, an asset
  • Vast professional network within market
