The District
School District 78 is seeking leaders to support and ensure the success of the Board of Education's Strategic Priorities including Student Success, Leadership Excellence, and Community Connections.
School District No. 78 (Fraser-Cascade) encompasses the communities of Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs, Boston Bar and Hope and serves approximately 1750 students with a staff of over 450 people. The District has seven schools, three Strong Start centers, two alternate schools, an online learning school and continuing education school. The District works cooperatively with many local agencies to provide a broad range of services and opportunities for our students.
The District boasts amazing opportunities for outdoor adventure such as kayaking, biking, hiking, and skiing. Our towns have many indoor recreational options as well such as swimming, hockey, curling, and bowling. The region, set in the eastern portion of the Fraser Valley, has mild winters and warm sunny summers.
We acknowledge that we are living, working and learning on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Xwchiyo:m, Sts'ailes, Sq'wlets, Sq'wqel, Shxw'?whaml, Sq'ewa:lxw, n?e?kepmxuym'x w, and Chawathil people. The Chawathil people are from the Tiyt Tribe of the upper Sto:lo Nation. The Tiyt Tribes extend down both sides of the Fraser River from Yale to Sq'ewqel and the Peters territory.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education
Master's degree in education
Valid BC teaching certificate or eligibility for certification with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
Minimum of five years of recent exemplary teaching experience in public education
Experience leading programs and initiatives at the school and/or the district level
Experience in ensuring inclusive learning environments
Experience incorporating Indigenous Education within inclusive learning environments
Experience teaching in a unionized public-school setting using the BC curriculum
Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in Inclusive Education
Preference will be given to candidates with training and experience in Indigenous Education
The successful candidate will receive:
A salary range of:
Vice-Principal Elementary - $ 131,404 to $138,844
Vice-Principal Secondary - $138,844 to 146,281
