Job Description


CBRE is seeking a Vice President in our Vancouver office to manage and grow our British Columbia Valuation & Advisory business. The ideal candidate will have prior experience managing appraisers, as well as a strong presence in the Vancouver market with existing client relationships. The successful candidate will have strong experience completing appraisal and consulting assignments for a wide variety of asset classes and will carry an AACI designation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Independently complete appraisal and consulting assignments with little to no oversight.

Assist in growing the presence of the CBRE VAS brand, specifically in the Vancouver and British Columbia market.

Updates job knowledge by tracking current real estate values and property development potential, including land use restrictions; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations for the purpose of conducting accurate appraisals.

Perform property inspections (including the occasional out of town assignment).

Oversee the maintenance of internal database systems for the Vancouver market.

Collaborate with team leaders from across Canada on larger portfolio assignments and complex projects and to develop new business opportunities.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mentor and train junior team members in terms of report writing data collection, financial underwriting and use of Argus Enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. A minimum of six (6) years commercial appraisal experience and experience with Institutional clientele is a plus. Significant experience and proficiency with Argus Enterprise (AE)

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

An AACI designated member of the Appraisal institute of Canada in good standing. Additional designations would be an added benefit.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex real estate and business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires strong knowledge of financial real estate terms and principles. Complete understanding of approaches to value of real estate assets.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations of significance to the operation.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Must be proficient in Argus Enterprise, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Strong business acumen and writing skills

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.
