Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario as part of the national Commissionaires organization that employs 22,000 from coast to coast, we specialize in responding to the dynamic and evolving security needs of our private and public sector clients.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President, Risk Development is responsible for developing opportunities in the security risk consulting services space for Commissionaires Great Lakes, both through organic product development and through identification and acquisition of a suitable platform company.
POSITION SUMMARY

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Broadly, this is a role that combines corporate development with security risk consulting. Following organic exploration of the local security risk consulting space, it is ultimately anticipated that the incumbent will identify and drive the acquisition of a suitable security risk platform company that they will then support to future growth. This includes:
  • Exploring the commercial security risk consulting market originating in Canada, both suppliers and client demand, to develop an understanding of services required and underserved niches.
  • Establishing personal and institutional credibility by meeting client demands and partnering with key industry players.
  • Developing relationships with buyers of security risk consulting services such as risk reporting and analysis, open source intelligence, investigations, due diligence, close protection, threat and risk assessments, strike management, bespoke training, rotational site security staffing and other related businesses.
  • Generating leads through brokered or proprietary channels for prospective acquisitions in the security risk consulting space that align with Commissionaires values, mandate and business adjacencies.
  • Assessing acquisition prospects for financial viability, conduct preliminary diligence and develop proposals for board consideration.
  • For board-approved prospects, developing deal structure with target ownership to LOI stage, and support/guide third party due diligence.
  • Supporting acquisition financing where necessary by identifying sources of finance and preparing/gathering necessary documentation.

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:
  • A CPA, CFA or other designation/work experience relevant to financial evaluation of businesses;
  • A minimum of 5 years in management-level roles in the security industry, comprising experience on both the client and service provider sides;
  • Demonstrated experience both delivering and procuring security risk consulting products;
  • Demonstrated experience selling B2B services;
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in roles with minimal supervision or guidance as a \xe2\x80\x9cself-starter\xe2\x80\x9d;
  • Exceptional interpersonal abilities;
  • High proficiency in producing professional written communications;
  • Tact, diplomacy, discretion and confidentiality;
  • Ability to operate sensitively within large, high-context organizations;
  • Strong personal IT skills (Microsoft 365, collaboration/conferencing tools, etc.);
  • Must be able to obtain a federal Level II security clearance;
  • Veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces or RCMP and reservists/auxiliaries will be preferred.
