Salary Range:

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$150,000 - CAD$225,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.

The upper end of the range is typically reserved for candidates with demonstrated expertise that is above job requirements or who bring exceptional directly transferable experience. Please note that the range details above reflect the base pay only and does not include other potential discretionary bonus programs and benefits that we offer.

About the role:



The Vice President of Operations is accountable for leading all aspects of cannabis processing, manufacturing, packaging, and fulfillment operations to ensure safe, compliant, efficient, and profitable production.

This role oversees the end-to-end supply chain -- from material receipt through finished goods release -- ensuring full alignment with

Health Canada's Cannabis Regulations (SOR/2018-144), Good Production Practices (GPP)

, and company quality standards.

The VP, Operations will drive operational excellence, build high-performing teams, implement data-driven process improvements, and enable scalable growth to meet market demand while maintaining regulatory integrity and cost discipline.

Duties and responsibilities (include and are not limited to):



Strategic Leadership & Execution

Develop and execute the company's

operations strategy

, ensuring alignment with overall corporate objectives and growth targets. Lead cross-functional planning across

Production

,

Quality

,

Supply Chain

,

Maintenance

, and

Facilities

to achieve throughput, yield, and cost targets. Drive the evolution from

manual or early-stage operations

to

digitally integrated, KPI-driven manufacturing environments

. Collaborate with the other members of the Executive Team on capacity expansion, capital investment planning, and long-term operational capability building.
Manufacturing & Processing Operations

Oversee daily production, post-harvest processing, extraction, formulation, packaging, and finished goods handling. Ensure adherence to

GPP/GMP

,

SOPs

, and all Health Canada and CRA (excise) requirements. Implement and monitor

production KPIs

-- yield, throughput, OEE, labour productivity, downtime, and scrap/waste metrics. Champion

continuous improvement

, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and root-cause analysis methodologies. Establish and maintain

preventive maintenance

and

equipment reliability programs

.
Quality, Compliance, & Safety

Partner closely with the

Responsible Person (RP)

and

Quality Assurance Person (QAP)

to maintain full regulatory compliance. Lead site readiness for

Health Canada inspections

GMP audits

, and

licensing renewals

. Promote a

culture of quality and accountability

, ensuring every product meets specification and labeling standards. Ensure all operations comply with

OHS

environmental

, and

fire safety

regulations.
Supply Chain & Inventory

Oversee the full supply chain, including

material procurement

inventory control

,

warehousing

, and

distribution logistics

. Ensure accurate

CTLS reporting

and

inventory reconciliation

for cannabis and excise-controlled materials. Implement robust

forecasting and S&OP processes

to align production with sales and market demand. Negotiate and manage key supplier relationships and service contracts.
People & Culture

Build, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary team spanning production, supply chain, quality, and facilities. Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance management systems with measurable KPIs. Promote safety, engagement, and professional development throughout the operations team.
Financial & Operational Performance

Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets. Optimize cost structure through yield improvements, automation, and waste reduction. Provide accurate and timely operational reporting to executive leadership and the Board. Support strategic initiatives such as new product introductions, facility expansions, and partnerships.
Potential for Ad hoc projects. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications/competencies:



Develop and manage annual operating and capital budgets. Optimize cost structure through yield improvements, automation, and waste reduction. , budgeting, and KPI management. Exceptional leadership and people-development capabilities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Comfortable in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments with complex compliance obligations. Must meet

Health Canada security clearance

requirements under the Cannabis Act. May require travel between facilities or contract manufacturing partners. Commitment to upholding confidentiality, integrity, and regulatory compliance.
