Department Overview

TD Asset Management (TDAM), a member of TD Bank Financial Group, is a leading North American investment manager offering progressive investment solutions to both institutional and individual investors. For over two decades, the organization has established competitive market positions in active, quantitative, and passive portfolio management. As of March 31, 2023, TDAM and its affiliates manage over $421 billion in assets on behalf of pension, insurance, endowment/foundation, and corporate clients, as well as high-net worth clients and retail mutual funds.
In attaining this client commitment, TDAM has built one of Canada\'s largest and most respected investment management and research teams with more than 220 Portfolio Managers, Associate Portfolio Managers, Traders and Analysts.

The primary role of the Vice President, Investment Risk is to support TDAM\'s risk analysis of Liability-Driven Investment and Asset-Liability Matching mandates
Position will report to the Senior Investment Risk Manager responsible for Asset-Liability Matching, Public Fixed Income, and Commodities and will contribute to the identification of emerging risks/new risk classifications to ensure the risk assessment framework is appropriate.
This position will be expected to communicate with employees across all levels of TDAM to satisfy their job responsibilities. The incumbent will be required to work independently and have strong leadership and communication skills.

Job Requirements

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

• Significant experience within asset management; 5+ years
• Demonstrated understanding of TDAM\'s Liability-Driven Investment and Asset-Liability Matching mandates.
• Ability to define and implement LDI and ALM risk modeling.
• Collaborative working style and the ability to facilitate groups with competing agendas to gain consensus and mitigate risks to TDAM/TD.

Specific Educational Requirements/Accreditations:

• Actuarial Sciences education preferred
• An industry designation, such as a CFA and/or MBA preferred
• Familiarity with investment industry regulations
• Bi-lingual French/English

Specific Accountabilities:

• Accountable for ongoing monitoring, oversight of TDAM mandates within area of expertise
• Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams
• Be proactive in the identification of emerging risks/new risk classifications to ensure the risk assessment framework is appropriate for the asset class.
