Torngat Metals is seeking a qualified

Vice President, Community Engagement & Partnerships

to join its team located in Montreal. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role plays a strategic leadership role in shaping and executing Torngat Metals' vision for community relations. This position is critical in building long-term, transparent, and mutually beneficial relationships with Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, particularly in the context of mining development in Northern Quebec with a project footprint also in Cote Nord and Labrador.

The incumbent will shape and execute Torngat Metals' strategy of economic reconciliation through equity participation. They will lead all community engagement initiatives, including the negotiation of formal agreements (IBA, PDA), management of social license risks, regulatory compliance, and the integration of community perspectives into corporate decision-making. They will act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and represent the company with key stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

Strategic LeadershipDefine and lead the overall community engagement strategy aligned with corporate objectives. Build and maintain trusted relationships with Indigenous communities, respecting their cultural, social, and economic realities. Influence corporate decisions by embedding community considerations into governance processes. Oversee the negotiation and implementation of formal agreements with communities (IBA, PDA,).

Stakeholder RelationsRepresent Torngat Metals with communities, governments, Indigenous organizations, and strategic partners. Ensure proactive, transparent, and respectful communication with all stakeholders. Participate in public forums, consultations, and community events.

Governance and ManagementLead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to community engagement. Manage budgets, performance indicators, and reporting related to community activities. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ESG best practices.

What We're Looking For:

University degree in community development, Indigenous relations, social sciences, or a related field (Master's degree an asset). Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including several years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in the mining industry, ideally in remote or northern contexts. Experience in community engagements or negotiations with Indigenous communities in northern Quebec. Open to frequent travel.
