The Canada Energy Regulator (CER) works to keep energy moving safely across the country. We review energy development projects and share energy information, all while enforcing some of the strictest safety and environmental standards in the world. Duties

----------


The Vice President of Communications and Engagement leads the delivery of key programs and services at the CER, including internal and external communications, translation and official languages, engagement, and grants and contributions. They also oversee activities coordinated through the CER's regional offices in Montreal and Vancouver.



The Vice President ensures alignment with the CER's strategic priorities and the effective, efficient delivery of services. They provide expert advice on regulatory, policy, and issues management to senior leadership, including the CEO, Commission, and Board of Directors. The Vice President leads the CER's core responsibility of Engagement and is the executive accountable for the Trust and Confidence strategic priority.



They manage financial and human resources within delegated authority, define team visions and goals, mentor staff, foster team cohesion, and collaborate across the organization.



Thriving in a fast-paced environment, the Vice President is adaptable, proactive in identifying risks and opportunities, and committed to continuous improvement.

They may act on behalf of the Executive Vice President, Transparency and Strategic Engagement, when required.

Education: Graduation with a degree from a recognized University in a related field relevant to the duties of the position or a combination of education and experience.

Information on employment equity


1. The CER has a classification system that differs from the greater public service. This NEB 14 position is similar to an EX-03 in terms of salary range only. The benefits offered, including relocation assistance, may be significantly different than those offered in the greater public service. This position is subject to CER's Executive Terms and Conditions.



2. Salary: Effective 1 July 2024 NEB14, $164,00 - $204,900



The CER has the following forms of additional compensation that are separate from base salary, the eligibility for which is determined, in accordance with the provisions in the collective agreement or terms and conditions of employment for the duration period specified:

Members of the Executive Group are currently eligible to receive a lump sum performance award as a percentage of base salary and may also be eligible to receive an annual retention bonus.


3.
