Position Overview

Van Belle Nursery is seeking a

Vice President, Young Plants

to lead our North American propagation division. This is a rare executive opportunity to lead strategy, scale systems, coach high-performing teams, and drive profitable growth in a dynamic and values-driven business.

The ideal candidate is a servant leader with a strong track record in senior leadership, strategic execution, and operational excellence. You are confident and humble, analytical and visionary--with a passion for growing both people and businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

Lead the Young Plants Division's vision, strategy, and execution Develop and drive 1-year and 5-year growth plans Analyze customer portfolios and define ideal client profiles Identify opportunities for expansion and margin growth

People & Culture

Lead and develop a team of 50+ through coaching, mentorship, and values-based leadership Champion a culture of respect, collaboration, and accountability Foster cross-functional alignment with Sales, Production, Marketing, and Finance teams

Operational Excellence

Build and scale systems that reduce complexity and increase consistency Oversee all division financials: budgeting, forecasting, CapEx planning, and reporting Align operations with long-term business strategy and sustainability goals

Customer & Partner Success

Elevate partner experience through systems, communication, and service enhancements Promote customer-centric thinking across all aspects of the division

What We're Looking For

Experience & Skills

10+ years of senior leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing, agriculture, horticulture, or related industries Proven success leading large teams (50+ FTEs) Strong business and financial acumen, including experience with full P&L responsibility Track record of building scalable systems and leading change Exceptional communication, coaching, and team-building skills Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Horticulture, or related field; MBA an asset
