Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries Inc. (Al-Pac) is seeking a

Vibration

Technician

to work out of our mill site near

Athabasca, Alberta

. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing vibration analysis on equipment and assemble machine. The collecting vibration data and recommending repair or replace any machinery or mechanical and electrical components that do not meet safety, performance, or efficiency standards. Troubleshoot report and solve problems.

Role Responsibilities



Responsible for Mill wide vibration analysis, observing and diagnoses machine component problems and forecast failures. Recommend solutions to correct or solve vibration issues. Provide reports and feedback on equipment condition and assist with failure analysis. Work in trades related trade as required. Assist in trouble shooting and resolution of maintenance concerns. Support for Maintenance Reliability Specialist. Aid and support to other trades or team members to ensure maximum equipment availability; liaise with Operations team members. Participate in the planning and executing of predictive and preventative maintenance programs. Make recommendations for improvements to maintenance and production practices. Maintain maintenance work records; assist to keep work areas clean. Commitment to developing and maintaining technical knowledge. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation listening for problem; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using; callipers, micrometres and other measuring tools. Operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment. Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance and reliability. Provide operational support by performing a range of route activities advising possible changes to processes to increase reliability. Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory and safety codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure. Ensure all safety mandatory documentation is completed, hazard assessments are preformed including all required learning sign offs. Work always following safety protocols and workspace clear and hazards are controlled. Work on self-directed work teams, be accountable to execute scheduled work, maintaining quality and total work output. Document details of all work completed and entering work request for any follow up work requested.

Role Requirements



Alberta-certified journeyperson Trades Ticket or Engineering Certificate. Holds a recognized related trade certificate.

5 - 7+ years'

experience in manufacturing/forestry maintenance and service or performing other electrical related duties including machinery and equipment installation, repair and maintenance. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) an asset.

Ability to prioritize, manage time well, multitask and troubleshoot. The ability to read and understand complex instructions. Ability to work indoors (high temperature) and outdoors (sub-zero temperatures) at physically demanding tasks that often require climbing and lifting or moving heavy items. The job may involve standing for long periods. There is some risk of injury when working with power tools and heavy equipment. Ability to work independently. Accuracy in processing. Knowledge and skill in meeting deadlines with multiple duties and tasks. Ability to work under pressure, changing priorities, deadlines, and adapt to change.
