Techtop Canada is a national distributor of electric motors, AC drives (VFDs), and mechanical power transmission products, with six locations across the country. We support OEMs, service shops, and distributors with dependable industrial solutions and responsive service.
We're growing -- and looking for a VFD Product Manager to lead our Topdrive series of VFDs and related products, including line/load reactors, harmonic filters, and CoolBLUE inductive absorbers. If you have a strong technical background in electrical, mechatronic, or automation engineering and enjoy working on product development, technical documentation, and application support.
What You'll Do:
Technical and product lead for our VFD and related product lines, working closely with our VFD manufacturer to manage product lifecycle, technical support, and new product development.
Product Management & Development:
Serve as the primary technical liaison with our VFD manufacturer & related product suppliers
Manage the development and launch of new VFD series and related accessories
Review and approve technical documentation, manuals, and literature for the Topdrive product line
Oversee revisions to product documentation to ensure accuracy and brand consistency
Coordinate internal and external product testing and evaluation
Technical Support & Applications:
Provide advanced pre- and post-sales technical support for VFDs and related products
Assist customers and sales teams with product selection, sizing, and application recommendations
Support troubleshooting efforts and escalate technical issues to the manufacturer when required
Deliver technical training for internal teams, distributors, and customers
Market & Sales Support:
Monitor competitor products and market trends in the VFD and power quality space
Provide product knowledge to the sales team to help secure strategic opportunities
Collaborate with marketing to keep the VFD catalogue and product section of the website up to date with manuals, datasheets, and training materials
Quality & Compliance:
Manage product quality feedback, warranty claims, and corrective action processes
Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations for VFDs and accessories in the Canadian market
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline
3-5 years of experience with VFDs, power electronics, or industrial automation equipment
Strong understanding of motor control principles, harmonics, filtering, and drive accessories
Experience in technical product management, applications engineering, or product development
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD and Adobe Acrobat skills are an asset
Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
