Legacy Biome is an animal health company specializing in microbiome-based products for dogs and cats. Our products are sold to veterinary clinics and directly to pet owners. A core part of our work is maintaining a high-quality donor program built on responsible screening, strong documentation, and trusted partnerships.

As we grow, we are expanding our production capacity and donor program infrastructure and are looking for a veterinary professional who wants ownership over an important and evolving operational role.

Position Overview



Legacy Biome is hiring a

Veterinary Technician

to support hands-on production while owning and developing our donor program for dogs and cats.

This role is ideal for a veterinary technician or animal health professional who understands animal health and screening standards and is comfortable managing animal-related programs, schedules, and documentation. This position does

not

involve daily hands-on care or handling of donor animals.

The majority of day-to-day work will be production-focused, with donor program ownership expanding over time as the company grows.

Key Responsibilities



Donor Program Ownership

Own and manage the donor program for dogs and cats Coordinate donor onboarding, documentation, and eligibility tracking Schedule and manage quarterly donor testing with external laboratories Review test results and maintain donor status records Communicate professionally with donor partners, breeders, and veterinarians Maintain and refine donor screening protocols and SOPs Support strategic expansion of donor pools over time Conduct occasional site visits to donor partners if required
Production & Operations

Perform hands-on production and preparation tasks Follow internal SOPs and documentation requirements Maintain clean, organized workspaces and equipment Accurately document production and donor-related activities Support increased production volume as donor capacity grows Assist with training or overseeing additional staff as the team expands

Ideal Candidate



Strongly Preferred



Veterinary Technician or equivalent animal health experience Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal health setting Strong understanding of animal health, screening, and professional standards Comfortable managing schedules, records, and ongoing programs Confident communicator with veterinarians, breeders, and animal professionals
Nice to Have

Lab production, manufacturing, or supplement experience Experience working with SOPs and documentation Prior responsibility for managing or improving processes
Personal Traits

Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented Comfortable working independently with accountability Balanced between operational structure and relationship management Interested in long-term growth and leadership opportunities
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
