Coquitlam Animal Hospital is a reputable veterinary clinic dedicated to delivering compassionate and top-quality care to pets. We are currently seeking a devoted and enthusiastic Veterinary Technician to join our team and contribute to our mission of promoting animal well-being and strengthening connections between pets and their owners.
Position Overview:
As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our DVMs ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.
Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will: love working with animals and people be able to multitask and work well within a team, have excellent communication skills, Maintain compassion, empathy, and professionalism during high-stress situations.
Job responsibilities include:
Providing basic comfort and nursing care Collection & Performing laboratory work -blood and urine sample collection/handling, IV and urinary catheter placement and maintenance, subcutaneous, intravenous, and intramuscular injections; general bandaging/wound care, cleaning, polishing and charting teeth during dental prophylaxis; always maintaining a high standard of patient care General Anesthesia & Monitoring and Logging, anesthesia induction and monitoring, intubation and extubation; Radiology Keeping accurate medical records, as well as client education, and much more.
Experience:
veterinary technician: 2 years RVT (preferred) New graduates are welcome to apply! Wages commensurate with experience
