Rutland Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate veterinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. Prior laboratory experience is highly valued, as it enhances the quality of diagnostic support and patient care.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures with professionalism and care Prepare animals for examinations and treatments, including restraint and sedation when necessary Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for testing Perform laboratory tests accurately, record results, and communicate findings to the veterinary team Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians Maintain detailed medical records for all animal patients Provide client education on animal health, nutrition, and post-treatment care Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and treatment areas Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures and assist with recovery

Qualifications

Certification or license as a Veterinary Technician Laboratory experience is highly desirable to support diagnostic processes effectively Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members professionally Compassionate attitude with a genuine love for animals and their well-being Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Basic computer skills for record keeping and communication purposes Flexibility to adapt to various tasks throughout the day as needed

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
