Responsibilities
Assist with patient admissions and intake, including gathering medical histories and ensuring accurate documentation
Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians during routine exams, outpatient treatments, and diagnostic procedures
Perform in-house laboratory testing such as fecals, urinalysis, and bloodwork under supervision
Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas, and assist with setup for routine surgeries and dental procedures
Wrap and sterilize surgical instruments and gowns following proper autoclave protocols
Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring stock levels
Accurately fill prescriptions and prepare medications as directed by the veterinary team
Communicate clearly with clients regarding discharge instructions, medication administration, and follow-up care
Prepare and finalize invoices for services and prescriptions at check-out
Skills
2+ years of experience
as a Veterinary Technician Assistant preferred
Hands-on experience with hospitalized patient care, lab work, and surgical prep
Compassionate, low-stress handling and safe restraint techniques of animals
Familiarity with surgical preparation, instrument sterilization, and autoclaving procedures
Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and team members
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask with confidence
Passion for providing exceptional patient care and supporting your team
