Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technologists in providing high-quality care to animals while ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both pets and their owners. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in animal health and welfare, along with a strong and committed work ethic.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any changes to the veterinary staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms, treatment areas, surgical suites and animals kennels. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care and treatment plans. Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient files to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in veterinary technology or animal science is a plus. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred but not required. Strong interest in animal care with a commitment to providing compassionate treatment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to handle animals safely and effectively, demonstrating patience and understanding. Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the fast-paced environment of a veterinary clinic.
