Veterinary Receptionist

Vancouver, BC, Canada

Job Description

Our Mission: We are a family, not just a pet hospital. A family that supports the amazing bond you share with your pet. Inside these walls we treat each other with empathy, respect and honesty. We vow to treat each pet as if they were one of our own and to take time to snuggle them. We vow to create a positive environment for your pet every time they walk through the door, to help strengthen the bond you share and to always keep the treat jar full. We will strive to adapt, to stay current and to ensure the health and well being of the four legged members of your family. We are not just any pet hospital. We are Yaletown Pet Hospital.
Our Core Values:

Teamwork, Empathy, Respect, Communication, Work Ethic, and Adaptability. Core values of any business are important to establish to help create a framework for how we function day to day. We decided on our core values in a staff meeting together, and we continue to work with these in mind and we expand them as we continue to evolve and develop as a family.
CSR Role:

Our focus is on offering the best quality care for our patients, and top-notch customer service for our clients. YPH CSRs have a cheerful, positive and helpful manner with a professional attitude; excellent client service skills, epic communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the knowledge and confidence it takes to be the face of the company. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, can manage stress well, and they constantly take initiative. Their ability to multitask does not compromise the quality of their work, and they have the willingness to learn and improve their skills.

Before joining us here at YPH, they have generally gained 1-2 years of experience working at a veterinary hospital or they have obtained their VOA/VA/VTA Certification in school.
Our CSRs are the captains of this ship and keep everything running smoothly. Their duties include (but are not limited to) managing a multi-doctor schedule, handling all client communications, triaging emergencies, fostering a compassionate practice-to-patient bond by liaising between the client and each department, providing education tips and resources to clients, assisting with nutrition and diet selections, and they are responsible for all administrative duties like collecting and scanning records. Needless to say, our CSRs are the masters at managing the clinic and client’s needs alike. They are bright, tech savvy, multi-tasking unicorns that aim to go above and beyond with everything they do for clients and coworkers.
We have a really amazing team who works hard and plays hard. If you think you’re amazing too email us your resume!! Those who meet the qualifications will be contacted. Those without direct veterinary experience, please layout your animal-related experience in your cover letter for consideration along with your career ambitions with entering this field. Those without experience and without a cover-letter will not be considered; following instructions is key for this role!
