We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist/Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. You will assist in managing appointments, handling medical records, and supporting the veterinary team in delivering high-quality care. Will also help with animal handling and with care.

Duties

Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming environment. Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring optimal use of the veterinary team's time. Manage medical records and client files with attention to detail and confidentiality. Process payments and handle medical collections as needed. Provide information to clients regarding pet care, services offered, and veterinary terminology. Assist with animal handling and restraint during examinations or procedures as required. Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a pleasant experience for clients. Collaborate with veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic. Support kennel operations when necessary, including animal husbandry and care.

Requirements

Previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred, including knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy. Familiarity with medical collection processes is a plus. Experience in animal handling, dog training, or pet grooming is highly desirable. Knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory experience is beneficial. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. A passion for animal care and welfare is essential; equine experience is an added advantage.
