Veterinary Receptionist / Animal Care Attendant

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and dynamic veterinary receptionist/animal care attendant to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate should be friendly and outgoing with excellent communication skills.

Your Role Will Include:



Creating a warm, professional environment for clients and patients Answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking clients in/out Issuing invoices and accurately processing payments Responding promptly to emails and messages Liaising between clients and the medical team Maintaining a clean and welcoming hospital environment Ensuring patient care is a priority within our hospital Feeding, cleaning, and caring for hospitalized patients General cleanup and laundry Assisting Technicians and Veterinarians with daily tasks Cleaning and prepping surgical instruments, and the surgery suite.

What We're Looking For:



Excellent communication and customer service skills Experience in customer service, front office reception, or veterinary reception (preferred) Strong multitasking and organizational abilities in a busy environment Comfort working with computers, and capacity of learning a range of veterinary and administrative software A calm, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn A positive, team-focused attitude that contributes to our supportive and respectful workplace culture. A passion for animals and a desire to make a difference in their care Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Strengths should reflect competency in patient care, restraint for a variety of procedures and the ability to maintain calm and focus on a variety of situations.

A veterinary assistant diploma is requested; however, experienced applicants will also be considered.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Using Avimark to input client/patient information as they arrive Performing financial transactions Client communication via phone, email and in person Assisting the RVT/veterinarian in a variety of surgical procedures Ability to assist the RVT in placing IV catheters, blood draws and other various treatments Taking care of in-patients such as (husbandry, feeding, walking etc.) Making sure that treatment areas are clean and stocked
Requirements:

A veterinary assistant diploma, or equivalent experience
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
