This role is multifaceted
Perform opening and closing procedures of the clinic
Greet clients in person or on the phone in an upbeat, courteous and professional manner
Handle client inquiries and enforce protocols, in an efficient, compassionate manner
Accurately enter client and patient information both manually and electronically including name, address, phone number and email
Prepare patient files
Enter estimates, process invoices and take payments via point of sale or cash
Admit surgeries, drop-offs and medical cases for the day and ensure proper documentation is completed and that all patient belongings are tagged
Maintain appointment flow for scheduling and within the clinic
Under direct supervision of the DVM and/or RVT, assist with patient care including but not limited to restraint, surgery, treatments, post-operative care, euthanasia
Assisting RVTs & DVMs by running samples using our blood analyzers and/or running urinalysis
Assisting with the preparation and dispensing of medication
Clean, package and prepare surgical instruments
Provide patients with walks outside to relieve themselves
Ensure food and water is accurately measured, recorded and given per individual requirements
Observe the patients general well being / physical condition and report any concerns to the DVM or RVT immediately
Clean and sanitize surgical, treatment and lab areas daily
Ensure laundry is washed, dried, folded and put away
Maintain hospital grounds: removal of snow and ice from the sidewalk, sweeping sidewalk, cleaning windows and doors, disposing of garbage and animal feces
Obtain and record the patient's weight in pounds and kilograms
Maintain an efficient flow of clients and that the patients file is provided for the examination room
Notify RVT when a client/patient are in the exam room
Book appointments appropriately for DVM and/or RVT
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the waiting room
Provide administrative support including but not limited to: sending/receiving emails, filing, faxing, photocopying
Be knowledgeable of the different products in the clinic (food, supplements, retail products, supplies
Be knowledgeable of the various procedures and services provided at the clinic
Ensure any medication or supplies are prepared and dispensed accordingly
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
