Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital (BBVSH) is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Customer Service Representative (CSR) to work the overnight shifts. The position will require at least 1 weekend night per week. The successful candidate will be working alongside the CSR team to ensure our clients are getting a superior service by managing daily appointments and communication. This position requires someone who can deliver a high level of client service to our pet owners. The successful candidate may also work the occasional holiday to meet the hospital needs.
Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital was started in 2009 and is a privately owned, family operated veterinary hospital located in Surrey, BC. BBVSH employs over 170 staff across 9 departments in one building, including our board-certified specialists. Our specialty departments include Surgery, Oncology, Cardiology, Neurology, Radiology, Internal Medicine, Emergency and Critical Care, Dentistry, and Rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities and Attributes:
Delivering and facilitating access to the highest level of client care
Maintain the reception areas, keeping them clean, tidy, client friendly, and safe for clients and pets
Provide customer service such as greet customers, answer questions, process incoming patients, and handle payments
Answer phone calls, which may involve answering questions, screening and scheduling appointments
Handle incoming and outgoing mail and email
Update and file patient charts
Enter data into a computerized veterinary program
Process credit card payments
Retrieve and prepare prescriptions
Schedule patient discharge for all services
Excellent time Management skill and ability to multitask
Interpersonal and problem solving skills
Ability to take initiative and use critical thinking skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, clients and community: create/support best practices in client engagements, internal communication, and client care procedures; displays sound judgement in proactively addressing issues for the best possible client and patient experience
Have excellent listening, written, and verbal communication and customer service skills
Possess the ability to retain a positive work environment
Have an excellent work ethic, be versatile, attentive to details and able to handle a lot of data that must be completed at a good pace
Promptly send out notifications and updates to RDVMs
Be supportive and empathetic to clients going through hard situations
Create a warm, sympathetic experience and atmosphere for clients before, during and after euthanasia
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years experience in a customer service capacity
Fluent in English
Experience in a veterinary/medical setting preferred but not required
