We are seeking a confident, compassionate, detail oriented and dedicated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. AVIMARK experience is an asset. This role involves assisting with various tasks in a veterinary clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment. Wage determined by experience and proficiency.
We are offering a full time position that requires availability to work days, evenings and some Saturdays.
Responsibilities/Duties
include but not limited to:
Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by restraining animals and preparing necessary equipment.
Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, conducting basic tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the system.
Ensure cleanliness of the clinic, including examination rooms, surgical areas, and waiting areas.
Send and Receive inventory order through VPCL
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care and treatment plans.
Assist in scheduling appointments and managing inventory of medical supplies with use of Avimark, Microsoft and Reference Laboratory software.
Experience
Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician/Assistant or in a similar role is required.
Familiarity with Avimark is required.
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with team members and pet owners.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care is essential.
