Veterinary Assistant - Morningstar Pet Hospital (Whitby, ON)

Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunity

Morningstar Pet Hospital is seeking a dedicated and professional Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a privately owned small?animal practice committed to delivering high?quality veterinary care while maintaining a respectful, organized, and supportive work environment.

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be an individual who demonstrates strong work ethic, compassion for animals, and the ability to work effectively within a team. This role is essential to the smooth operation of the hospital and requires professionalism, reliability, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians and RVTs with patient handling and restraint Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital Support surgical and treatment areas as directed Perform basic laboratory tasks (fecals, urinalysis, sample preparation) Maintain inventory, restock supplies, and ensure organized workspaces Provide client support, including patient updates and education Uphold hospital standards for patient care, safety, and sanitation
Qualifications

Experience in a veterinary or animal care setting preferred Strong animal-handling and restraint skills Ability to multitask in a fast?paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude and commitment to teamwork Willingness to learn and grow within the role
