Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate veterinary team in Tillsonburg. This role involves supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality care to animals. The ideal candidate will be compliant, organized, attentive, and available when required for emergency services.

Duties

Assist veterinarians and technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries Assist on Emergency duties while staying in Tillsonburg Prepare examination rooms and sterilize equipment to maintain a clean and safe environment Restrain animals safely during procedures to ensure both animal and staff safety Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff Collect samples such as blood, urine, or tissue for laboratory testing Maintain accurate records of animal treatments, medications, and procedures Support laboratory tasks including sample labeling, processing, and documentation Provide compassionate care and comfort to animals before, during, and after procedures

Experience

Veterinary education/diploma is prefered and priortized. Prior Small Animal Veterinary Clinic experience is preferred and further training will be provided for all laboratory procedures Previous experience working with animals or in a veterinary setting is advantageous Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential Compassionate attitude towards animals and pet owners is vital for success in this role

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week

Work Location: In person
