Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by holding animals and preparing necessary equipment. Perform laboratory tasks such as collecting samples, running tests, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Administer and explain medications for patients as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms. Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners about their animals' health and care instructions. Assist with scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Daily cleaning of the clinic.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in veterinary technology is a plus. Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist, assistant or in a related field is preferred. Laboratory experience is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with both animals and people. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed. A genuine passion for animal care and welfare is essential.
