Lansdowne Animal Hospital

is looking for part-time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to add to our team of trained professionals. We are a small animal hospital operating in Richmond for more than 25 years. We are looking for a candidate with strong work ethic and great communication skills.

Graduation from a Veterinary Assistant program is preferred. Any Veterinary experience is strongly preferred

```Duties:```
- Assist veterinarians in providing care and treatment to animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas
- Perform laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery

```Experience:```

Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred. Expereinced candidates may be offered higher wages based on their experience.

- Knowledge of basic veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures

We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with animals and providing exceptional care.

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will be responsible for answering phones, client handling, assisting veterinarians in providing care to animals. You will handle and restrain animals during examinations, administer medications, perform laboratory tests, take x-rays, clean equipment, and provide post-operative care.

To be successful in this role, previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital is preferred. You should have knowledge of basic veterinary medical terminology and procedures, as well as familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50-$22.00 per hour
