Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care for animals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care, with experience in veterinary settings. This role involves assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in various tasks to ensure the health and well-being of our patients.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment. Provide care for animals Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian or veterinary technician. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas. Handle animal restraint during examinations and procedures to ensure safety for both staff and animals. Prepare animals for surgery, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with anesthesia. Record patient histories and maintain accurate medical records. Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.

Skills

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

Kennel experience Animal husbandry knowledge Front desk operations familiarity Proficient in animal restraint techniques Medication administration skills General veterinary experience Strong animal handling abilities Understanding of veterinary terminology Comprehensive pet care knowledge Solid understanding of animal anatomy Laboratory experience (preferred) Previous veterinary assistant or clinic experience

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
