Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with examinations, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff. Duties

Greet clients & patients, record animal's weight on electronic scale, admit to exam room.
Assist veterinarian & technician during examinations and procedures.
Assist with the administration of vaccinations and medications as directed by veterinarians.
Collect specimens & perform routine laboratory tests such as urinalysis and fecal floatations.
Answer telephones, help maintain accurate medical records and update patient information.
*. Ensure cleanliness and organization of reception, exam, diagnostic imaging, surgical, & animal confinement areas.

Help prepare animals for surgery.
*. Provide post-operative care & monitor recovery.

Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or in a similar role is preferred but not mandatory.

Knowledge of sterile technique, laboratory procedures, & medical instrumentation is an asset. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately. Attention to detail is essential for collating information during client phone calls, animal admits & releases, & subsequent record keeping. Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
