Venue And Operations Manager

Picton, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

About The Andrew:

The Andrew is more than a venue; it's the heart of our community. Located in downtown Picton, we are "A Space for Every Story," dedicated to strengthening community and sparking unexpected connections. Housed in a beautifully transformed historic building featuring The Great Hall, gardens, a labyrinth, and state-of-the-art technology, we host a vibrant mix of performances, wellness activities, community gatherings, weddings, and celebrations of life. Our mission is rooted in inclusivity, creativity, and joy.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Venue & Operations Manager to become the operational heart of The Andrew. This is a pivotal role for a practical, community-minded, and highly organized individual who thrives on ensuring flawless event execution. You will be the primary point of contact for our diverse range of users, managing everything from the initial inquiry to the final cleanup. If you are looking for a role where your organizational skills and dedication directly fuel community connection, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Event Coordination & Client Management

Serve as the warm and primary point of contact for all rental inquiries, from initial tour to post-event follow-up.

Manage the entire rental process: providing cost summaries, sending rental agreements, ensuring insurance compliance, and issuing invoices.

Oversee all on-site event logistics, including room setup/teardown, and coordinate volunteers or support staff to ensure client satisfaction.

Act on partnership leads generated by our community outreach team, following up to convert inquiries into bookings.

2. Venue & Operational Oversight

Act as the on-site lead, liaising with maintenance, cleaners, and grounds staff to ensure the facility is always presentation-ready.

Possess the physical capability to personally handle and/or oversee the setup and teardown of events, including moving tables, chairs, and other equipment.

Manage key administrative documents and systems, including the master booking calendar, operational checklists, and digital files.

3. Marketing & Client Engagement Support

In collaboration with our team, help maintain accurate and compelling venue information on our website and other digital platforms.

Provide excellent client service to build The Andrew's reputation, encouraging repeat business and positive word-of-mouth.

Gather content from events (e.g., photos) for use in our marketing channels.

4. Volunteer Coordination & Community Liaison

Recruit, train, and schedule a roster of volunteers for event support, particularly for setup, teardown, and food service.

Foster positive, collaborative relationships with the Circle of Friends congregation and the Friends of The Andrew ambassador group.

Who You Are (The Must-Have Attributes):

Physically Fit & Hands-On: You are able and willing to perform and oversee the manual tasks required for event setup and teardown.

Local & Available: You live in or very near Picton and can accommodate multiple visits to the venue per day. A flexible schedule, including regular evenings and weekends, is non-negotiable.

Commitment to the Vision: You have a genuine passion for community building and are deeply aligned with The Andrew's values of inclusivity and hospitality.

Responsible & Discerning: You exercise excellent judgment, can handle unexpected issues calmly, and can sensitively negotiate community rental rates in line with our values.

Meticulous & Proactive: You have an exceptional eye for detail, ensuring rental agreements are signed, the space is perfectly prepared, and logistics are tightly coordinated. You are a self-starter who sees what needs to be done and takes initiative.

A Collaborative Problem-Solver: You are a team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people and solve problems under pressure.

How to Apply:

Please submit your resume and a cover letter detailing why you are the ideal candidate for this unique community role to by Monday November 3.
