Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Fleet Procurement and Support Services, the Vehicle and Equipment Inspector performs inspections and testing of new equipment, internal and external rentals; supervises testing, and evaluates modification/repairs to new equipment performed by both in-house and external vendors prior to acceptance. The responsibilities include overseeing inspections and communicating with vendors, researching and recommending quality control improvements, coordinating training and maintaining records.
The position also carries out specific related programs as assigned, including writing reports and working with many WFMA staff, including Contract Administrators, Clerks, Manufacturing Shop Supervisor, Shop Foreman, and Manufacturing staff. Completes data entry with the Fleet Management Software and signs off on inspections completed for payment process to be initiated by the Contract Administrator.
