The Position: Vegetation Management Contract Supervisor
Type: Full-time
Reports To: Regional Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:• Supervise and manage mechanical contractors.
• Ensure that contractors are meeting the terms of the contract, including schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, utility companies, local authorities, stakeholders, and environmental agencies.
• Inspecting the work being performed to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Identifying and addressing any issues or errors in the work being done.
• Ensuring that work is completed to the specifications outlined in project plans.
• Inspect work to ensure it meets the necessary environmental, safety, and quality standards.
• Ensure all safety procedures are followed during vegetation removal or management activities.
• Keep detailed records of vegetation management activities, including costs, timelines, and progress reports.
• Report to clients about project status and issues that arise.
• Other duties as required.


Experience and Knowledge Expectations:• Manitoba Pesticide Applicator's License OR ISA Arborist Certification OR Current UTT/UA classification.
• Degree or diploma in Forestry/ Environmental Science/ Resource Management/ related field would be considered an asset.
• 2 years' experience working with electrical utility vegetation programs.
• 1 year work experience in herbicide/pesticide application OR mechanized vegetation removal along utility rights-of-way OR aerial pruning and trimming near energized equipment.
• Previous experience organizing and leading groups toward the completion of projects and tasks
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License and Drivers Abstract with less than 6 demerits.
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to identify native and invasive plant species
• Ability to read utility circuit maps on paper or spatial mapping software,
• Experience utilizing ArcGIS software
• Familiarity with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong leadership to guide and motivate contractors and manage the client/ stakeholder reporting process.
• In-depth understanding of safety standards and risk management in outdoor work near electrical equipment.
• Familiarity with local and national regulations regarding vegetation management.
