Vectorworks Landmark BIM Specialist - Landscape Architecture

to join our Toronto team immediately.




Position Overview:



The Vectorworks BIM Specialist plays a vital role in advancing BIM workflows across LANDinc's landscape architecture portfolio. This position supports digital delivery, model coordination, and data management throughout all project phases -- from concept design through construction documentation. Working closely with internal teams and external consultants, the specialist ensures the development of high-quality Landscape BIM models and drawing sets while promoting the firm-wide adoption of BIM standards. This is a growth-oriented role that blends technical expertise with a passion for innovative, sustainable design.



What you will be doing:



BIM Support & Workflow Integration

Support the implementation, develop and upkeep of LANDinc's BIM standards and templates tailored to landscape architecture. Assist in the development and refinement of workflows for grading, planting, stormwater, and hardscape design in Vectorworks Landmark. Contribute to the execution of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), data exchange formats (e.g. IFC), and model-sharing strategies with external teams, including conversion of BIM data to traditional 2d/3d dwg format.

Modeling & Project Delivery

Create and manage accurate, data-rich 2D/3D landscape models in Vectorworks Landmark. Support production of construction drawing packages, ensuring alignment with firm-wide quality standards. Coordinate model updates across teams and assist with quality control, file organization, and data management.

Team Collaboration & Technical Support

Facilitate data exchange and model interoperability with external platforms (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, GIS). Collaborate closely with landscape architects, planners, urban designers, and external consultants to integrate design intent into BIM models. Provide day-to-day Vectorworks support to project teams and help resolve modeling issues. Assist with onboarding and informal training of staff in BIM workflows and digital best practices. Participate in cross-disciplinary coordination and model exchange sessions with consultants.

Content Development & Digital Assets

Contribute to the development of custom libraries, smart objects, and data-rich tools to streamline landscape documentation. Integrate plant databases, materials specs, and other data into design models to support sustainable decision-making. Assist in leveraging model data for cut-fill calculations, takeoffs, reporting, and design optimization. Assist with ad hoc requests.

What you bring along:

Degree or diploma as Landscape Technologist, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, or a related discipline. Minimum 7 years of experience in a technical or design support role with a focus on BIM in the landscape architecture industry. Proven hands-on experience using Vectorworks Landmark in real-world project delivery. Familiarity with digital coordination in multidisciplinary project teams. Proficiency in Vectorworks Landmark 2024 or later, especially for modeling terrain, grading, planting, and hardscape systems. Working knowledge of BIM data structures (e.g., IFC), file organization, and data exchange protocols. Competence in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, SketchUp, or other 3D visualization and documentation platforms. Vectorworks Certification or equivalent is an asset. Experience with GIS data, LiDAR integration, or reality capture workflows is an asset Familiarity with public sector BIM standards or Canadian municipal design protocols is an asset. Strong attention to detail and ability to balance design intent with technical accuracy. Collaborative team player with clear communication skills.
