The VDC Area Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing a regional team of VDC Designers and Project Leads. Your primary focus will be ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet high-quality standards. This role involves managing client relationships, coordinating BIM execution across multiple offices, and implementing QAQC processes to optimize performance and consistency.To succeed, you\'ll need a background in mechanical or construction technology, knowledge of BIM standards, and expertise in tools like Autodesk Revit and Navisworks. Proven leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment are essential. Your experience in multi-discipline design or construction will help you drive team success and project excellence.OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble, train, and manage a regional team of VDC Designers and Project Leads, ensuring engagement and consistent performance.
  • Monitor and manage the progress of projects, ensuring they stay on track concerning budget, schedule, and overall performance.
  • Implement QAQC checks and processes to maintain consistency and adherence to industry standards across all projects.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the VDC team, other departments, and site teams to ensure seamless integration and coordination of BIM models.
  • Serve as the primary VDC contact for clients, managing relationships and ensuring satisfaction with project deliverables.
  • Develop and enforce BIM implementation and execution plans, ensuring projects meet national and international BIM standards.
  • Schedule and allocate regional VDC staff for projects, coordinating closely with construction and project managers.
  • Mentor and guide team members in their career growth, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Oversee the preparation of project documentation, including prequalification statements, bid packages, and quality assurance reports.
  • Address and resolve any conflicts or crises that arise, maintaining strong relationships with clients, owners, and consultants.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Post-secondary diploma in mechanical or construction technology or equivalent experience in a mechanical contracting trade. An engineering or CET designation is an asset.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.
  • In-depth knowledge of BIM standards, guidelines, and protocols, with mastery in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
  • Proven track record in leading and building successful teams, with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
  • Strong understanding of architecture, engineering, and construction practices, with experience in multi-discipline design or construction environments.
  • Ability to maintain and develop strong client relationships, with excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in managing projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Competence in implementing QAQC processes and ensuring compliance with industry standards and building codes.
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and crisis management, maintaining professionalism and strong client relations.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timelines.
  • Willingness to commit to continuous learning and adaptability to evolving industry trends and technologies.
