Responsibilities
Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Vascular Diagnostic Technologist is a member of the non-invasive vascular lab team. The Vascular Diagnostic Technologist applies critical things with respond to anatomy and physiology and diagnostic techniques to preform sonographic examinations. The primary focus of the technologist is the vascular system and associated pathological conditions. The technologist works alongside and with physicians using technology to help assess patients and their conditions Diagnostic testing is completed as requested in accordance to the departments standards and techniques. The technologist accepts responsibility for maintaining and continually enhancing individual professional competencies thorough ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs research and continuous quality improvement. The technologist is responsible and accountable for their practice and conduct as defined by the Nov Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals and for ensuring that their registration is current and valid. The technologist practices within their scope of practice as defined by Sonography Canada.
