Job Overview


We are seeking a skilled Valve Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and the ability to work with industrial equipment.

& Responsibilities


Valve Modification and Repair:

Perform valve modifications, repair tasks based on customer specifications, engineering drawings, and procedures Disassemble and inspect valves, replacing or repairing components as necessary. Modify valves according to customer requirements, include welding, machining, or other necessary modifications.
Testing and Inspection:

Conduct functional/performance tests to ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with the team to perform inspections and verify the accuracy and integrity of the modification work. Document test results and inspections accurately and maintain proper records.
Tool and Equipment Maintenance:

Ensure the proper maintenance/calibration of tools, equipment, and machinery used in valve modification. Perform routine inspections and minor repairs of tools and equipment, reporting any issues to the valve foreman. Adhere to safety guidelines and report any safety hazards or concerns related to tools and equipment.
Safety and Quality Compliance:

Adhere to health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Follow quality control procedures and guidelines to ensure accurate and high-quality valve modifications. Report any non-conformities, quality issues, or safety concerns to the valve foreman.
Documentation and Reporting:

Complete accurate and detailed documentation of valve modification activities, including: work performed, parts used, and any deviations from specifications. Maintain records of inspections, tests, and any non-conformities encountered during the modification process. Report project status, challenges, and progress to the valve foreman or supervisor.

Qualification and Education Requirements:


Proficient in valve installation, maintenance, repair, and modification procedures.

Knowledge of different types of valves, including gate valves, ball valves, globe valves, and check valves. Understanding of valve components, materials, and their functionality. Ability to disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble valves accurately. Skilled in troubleshooting valve performance issues and implementing necessary repairs or adjustments. Knowledge of valve testing methods, such as pressure testing and leak testing, to ensure proper functioning. Experience in using valve maintenance tools and equipment, including: torque wrenches, pressure gauges, and valve actuation devices. Familiarity with valve specifications, drawings, and technical documents to interpret and follow instructions. Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to valve installation and maintenance. Understanding of safety protocols and procedures for working with valves and associated equipment. Ability to identify and source replacement parts for valves and make appropriate recommendations. Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in measurements, alignments, and adjustments. Ability to work independently or as part of a team to complete valve-related tasks. Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve valve-related issues efficiently. Strong communication skills to interact with customers, engineers, and other team members effectively. Experience in valve modification, such as trim replacement, actuator installation, or seal upgrades, is a plus. Experience using valve diagnostic equipment: ultrasonic leak detectors/vibration analyzers, etc. is advantageous.
Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy valves and equipment when required.

Familiarity with basic machining processes and tools is beneficial. Relevant certifications or training in valve technology, such as Valve Technician Certification (VTC), is advantageous

Preferred Skills



Successful Applicant is not expected to have all of the below:

Overhead Crane, Forklift and First Aid.

This Position is subject to:

3-Month Probationary Period,



As an employee of the company, you will be eligible after the 3-month probationary period to participate in a company sponsored benefit program. The program includes a comprehensive health and wellness package.



This role will be eligible to participate in AVS's employee bonus program after one year of full-time employment.



Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
