Job Description

Position Summary

The Part?Time Vacuum Truck Operator is responsible for safely operating vacuum truck(s) to handle fluid or sludge removal, hydro?excavation, spill cleanup, or other related services. The role involves driving the truck, operating vacuum and related equipment, performing inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Operate a vacuum truck safely and efficiently, including start up, shut down, and clean up of equipment. Perform fluid/sludge removal, hydro?excavation, line flushing, or offloading materials as required. Conduct pre?trip and post?trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment. Report any defects or maintenance needs. Ensure proper setup on job sites (hoses, valves, safety measures, connections). Comply with safety protocols: PPE use, confined space rules, hazard assessments, etc. Record driving/logging hours, daily vehicle/equipment checks, job reports, disposal documentation. Maintain cleanliness of truck, equipment, and worksite. Occasionally assist with loading/unloading, basic maintenance, minor repairs. Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and possibly customers about job status.
Qualifications & Skills

Valid commercial driver's license (Class 3 / equivalent) with clean driver's abstract. Experience driving manual transmission (if required). Experience operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment is a plus, but not always required. Relevant safety certifications: e.g. First Aid / CPR, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), H2S Alive, CSTS, Confined Space Entry/Monitor. Physically fit: able to work outdoors, in variable weather, lift/carry heavy items. Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions. Attention to detail, reliable, punctual, safety?focused.
Hours & Work Conditions

Part?time schedule: [e.g. specify days/hours, e.g. "20 hours/week", "weekends", "on?call shifts"]. May require travel to various job sites. Exposure to noisy, dusty, wet, or otherwise harsh conditions. Flexible working hours sometimes required, depending on job orders.
Compensation & Benefits

Hourly wage of $between $30 to $40 (depending on experience and license class). Reimbursement for travel or mileage if applicable. Safety gear provided. Opportunities for training / certifications may be available.

Pay: $21.85-$42.77 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Work Location: In person
