What you'll be doing...

To compile both asset and workforce data in order to analyze schedule performance, forecast accuracy, as well as analyzing historical trends in order to make improvements to the forecasting of asset and labour resource needs to ensure service levels and departmental goals are met. Reviews and maintains asset component lifecycles by creating and maintaining an historic lifecycle overview as well as establishes a projected future component end of life dates. Through life cycling of components create cost analysis on historic, current and future maintenance work to support maintenance budgets, refit programs and bus life extension projects. Produces reports on labour performance in order to best develop strategies in determining if resources are being effectively utilized. Analyzes schedule compliance at the shift level in order to support the scheduling department in determining the optimal balance between workforce resources and maintenance activities. Ultimately providing data and recommendations that improve workforce performance and asset lifecycles in order consistently meet our asset service level commitments.

What you'll bring to the table...

We value lifelong learners and have found the following combination of education and experience allows people to be successful in this role:

  • Completion of a degree or diploma in Business Analysis, Maintenance Technician/Engineering Technologist; will also consider certified trades person with a combination of education and experiential knowledge regarding data analysis and life-cycling of assets and workforce management.
  • The following would be considered an asset: CBAP--IIBA (Certified Business Analysis Professional) equivalent
  • Required experience in the use of business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Excellent computer and communication skills with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Experienced in Cost Accounting/Engineering
  • Working with data in Computer Maintenance Management Systems (e.g. JDE or SAP systems)
  • Excellent self-management and organization skills
  • Knowledge and experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong information gathering and information organization skills
  • Strong team orientation
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
