JOB TEXT:
Utility Worker II The Utility Worker II is responsible for the daily cleaning of schools; including mopping of floors, cleaning of washrooms, classrooms, windows, etc. The Utility Worker II also operates equipment associated with cleaning tasks and performs facility and equipment maintenance. This position will be responsible for snow clearing and ice control. Other related duties as assigned. Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Recent experience in a commercial cleaning environment
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures, materials and equipment
- Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS)
- Physical abilities consistent with requirements of the job
- The ability to work as a team player and independently
- The completion of trades-related courses would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of the function and use of security, energy management, life safety, fire alarm and audio systems would be considered an asset
- Have a working knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical systems, gas systems, plumbing, heating, ventilation, etc
- Reliable transportation
