The Treater Operator is responsible for operation of pressure treating systems and transfer deck as required. Operates pressure treating systems as required, including testing, mixing, plant control operation and system monitoring.

SHIFT:
Saturday12 hours (1.5 times for the weekend)
Sunday 12 hours (1.5 times for the weekend)
Monday 6 hours
Work 30 hours and get paid for 42.

Responsibilities

  • Pressures treat poles to specifications
  • Unloads chemical deliveries
  • Cleaning and maintenance of treating systems, including greasing, filter cleaning / changing, cleaning tanks, door pits and plant surfaces
  • Maintains daily plant checklist and reports items of concern to plant Supervisor and maintenance department as applicable.
  • Operates and monitors kilns and fixation tunnel as required
  • Loads and unloads lumber treating carts as required
  • Maintains pressure treating carts, greasing and removing for repair as required
  • Safe and responsible operation of company equipment at all times
  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment
  • Abides to OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) workplace health and safety standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of related experience
  • Proficiency in English
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Time and stress management
  • Attention to detail
  • Competent operation of machinery and equipment
  • Ability to perform the tasks without causing damage to product or equipment
  • Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments
  • Perform confined space entries
  • Basic computer skills \xe2\x80\x93 Windows
  • Basic Math Skills
