The County is seeking a permanent full time Utilities Operator. Reporting to the Utilities Foreman, the successful candidate will assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the County of Wetaskiwin's water/wastewater systems. Regular hours of work are eight (8) hours per day Monday to Friday commencing at 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the requirement to be on a rotational on-call schedule as required.

Required Skills

Achieved Provincial Certification Level 1 or greater in Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater collection; or Achieved a Journeyman Certification as a Plumber, Electrician, or Instrumentation and Control Technician; or Achieved a Certificate as a Water and Wastewater Technician through a qualified technical institution. High School Diploma or Equivalency. Hold a Class 5 Driver's License. Demonstrated an ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Have a demonstrated ability for being self motivated, organized, safety conscious, mechanical aptitude and good analytical and problem solving skills. Be physically fit; able to lift up to 50 lbs and able to work in an outside environment. Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, with the ability to comprehend and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing are essential. The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Driver's Abstract. Experience in GIS operations and Asset ID software is an asset.
