This position offers the opportunity to work in a vital public service role that keeps our water and wastewater systems running smoothly. No certification yet? No problem! We're willing to train and support the right candidate in achieving their Operator Level I certification.
Job Overview:
Maintain water, sewer, and storm facilities, including pumps, valves, and backup engines.
Ensure compliance with the "Alberta Environment Code of Practice" to provide safe and potable drinking water.
Conduct repairs on water, sanitary, and storm systems as needed.
Operate municipal equipment, hand tools, and other equipment safely and effectively, using specific operational skills and procedures.
Respond promptly and effectively to alarms and critical situations such as low/high pressure, high flow, reservoir levels, and power failures.
Analyze and interpret data from the SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition) system.
Complete daily tasks as outlined in work orders generated by the administration/utility billing department.
Perform monthly water meter readings for commercial and residential properties.
Conduct seasonal maintenance activities such as hydrant flushing, winterization, line flushing, sewer flushing, and valve exercising.
Participate in a rotating schedule for 24-hour emergency on-call response.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalency
Class 5 Driver's License
The successful candidate will be required to provide a criminal record check, and drivers abstract.
