UTILITY OPERATOR - R.M. of Glenside No. 377

The R.M. of Glenside No. 377 is seeking to fill the position of Seasonal/Casual Utility Operator to complete the 2025 season. Duties to include but not limited to mowing ditches, operating heavy equipment, general maintenance, road sign installation and other duties as determined by the Foreman.

Position to start immediately and end November 31, 2025 weather permitting.

Key Duties and responsibilities:

Operate a grader to complete road maintenance, grading, gravel reclamation and minor road construction. Ensure roads are maintained and repaired (culverts) on a priority basis and ability to repair machinery and attachments. Operate a tractor to mow ditches and have working knowledge of mowing techniques. Manage shop inventory, log work performed, log and report inspections and ensure safety procedures are followed and fully maintained daily. Good interpersonal skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with council, staff, contractors and ratepayers.

The successful applicant should possess:

Experience in operation of heavy equipment. Willingness take direction from Foreman and ability to work independently Great communication and documentation skills. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Demonstrate attention to detail and be safety conscious
Transportation to and from the R.M. Shop is the employee's responsibility.

Valid driver's license. With Preference given to applicants with Air Endorsement and Class 3A license.
