Role Summary:
The Used Equipment Manager is responsible for optimizing the valuation, reconditioning, pricing, and remarketing of used and new aging equipment across all Reesink Canada locations. This role leverages data-driven insights to develop valuation framework, drive inventory turnover, maximize profitability, and support sales teams with tools, processes, and reporting. The position acts as a strategic partner to branch teams, OEM contacts, and internal leadership to ensure disciplined equipment management across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Valuation & Reconditioning
Develop and maintain a standardized
Used Equipment Valuation Framework
based on market conditions, unit condition, and resale potential.
Create and update:
+ Reesink Canada Valuation Guides
+ Reconditioning Assessment Checklists
+ Sales tools, publications, and update cadence Evaluate incoming trades, aging assets, and equipment requiring reconditioning.
2. Used Inventory Sales & Aging Management
Achieve organizational goal of
<10% aged inventory
across Reesink Canada.
Lead monthly audits and distribution of
Aged / Coming-Aged Reports
.
Oversee monthly cost adjustments and SPURT sales programming.
Develop, publish, and enforce
Advertising Standards & Best Practices
.
Provide analysis and recommendations based on Curtailment reports.
Coordinate with sales teams to reduce aging units and improve retail velocity.
3. Pricing Strategy & GM% Optimization
Develop a
centralized Used pricing strategy
by make, model, year, and category.
Establish and publish
GM% expectation
guides.
Support wholesale disposition, broker strategy, and outside of APR boundary sales efforts.
4. Budgeting & Year-End Processes
Lead
Year-End Used Equipment Evaluations
and impairment analysis.
Support the creation of
annual used unit budgets
by representative and store.
Develop budgeting tools and forecasting models for used equipment revenue.
5. Inventory Procurement & Dealer Requests
Manage dealer-to-dealer used inventory request processes.
Support auction purchases, trade-ins, and direct acquisitions when required.
Support the development of common specification standards for new equipment to ensure future remarketing value.
6. Sales Enablement & Marketing Support
Support advertising execution, including:
+ Broker strategy
+ Wholesaler execution
+ External AOR liquidation opportunities Collaborate with branches and reps to ensure quality, consistent equipment listings.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Build strong working relationships with:
+ Branch management and sales teams
+ OEM representatives (Claas, Horsch, Kubota) Participate actively in meetings and represent Reesink professionally in the community.
Maintain knowledge of regional market conditions, product introductions, and equipment trends.
Complete one week of dedicated sales related training per year.
Qualifications
:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Agribusiness or related field; OR Equivalent combination of experience (minimum 4-5 years new/used equipment sales).
5+ years' experience in an agricultural dealership environment.
5+ years of equipment sales experience, with proven performance.
Strong understanding of dealership financials and operations.
Proven ability to analyze used equipment markets and trends.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Deep understanding of used equipment valuation and market dynamics.
Strong financial and analytical skills.
Ability to develop pricing frameworks and inventory strategies.
Advanced communication, negotiation, and customer relations abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of procurement, remarketing, advertising, and inventory lifecycle management.
