Job Description


Reporting to the International Payroll Manager, the Payroll Analyst will be responsible for overseeing and processing the US, Singapore, and Australian payrolls smoothly and accurately for monthly and/or biweekly payrolls for salary and hourly employees, including unionized employees while delivering exceptional customer service to business groups.

Please note this position can be based out of our Offices in Toronto, Boston or New York.

Accountabilities:

  • Support the international payroll team by managing and supporting the day-to-day payroll processes through the manipulation and validation of incoming data, organization, and submission of payroll entries to ensure error-free payroll processing aligned to statutory compliance and internal policies through data entry, mass uploads, time system inquiries, payroll processing jobs and maintaining required authorizations and documents
  • Review, analyze, and reconcile payroll and other payroll related data according to established timelines, standards, and procedures and calculate retroactive data as required and identify any payment or data errors
  • Ensuring the employees are receiving their payments on schedule by working to the tight deadlines and effectively managing your time to meet our SLA\xe2\x80\x99s
  • Handle complex and/or sensitive payroll requests and issues by providing exceptional customer service to both the customer and its employees
  • Support the international payroll team with year-end activities through the balancing of reports, communicating with vendors, submitting input requests for the processing of payroll tax returns and reporting
  • Supporting with ad-hoc seasonal demands
  • Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records and assist with organization\xe2\x80\x99s internal and external audits
  • Monitor and maintain accuracy of employee deductions, garnishments, and benefit enrollments.
  • Ensure timely 401k / NQDC transactions are managed
  • Report to management on payroll issues and changes to ensure quality service levels
  • Assist the broader payroll team, as needed, on special projects or payroll processing for vacation coverage
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices while maintaining knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices in employment law, payroll, human resources, and talent management, ensuring compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws, regulations, and requirements
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation of payroll processes
  • Participate in and support departmental initiatives
  • Seek feedback, continuously learn, and take advantage of opportunities to improve knowledge, skill, and experience
Skills & Experience:
  • Trained eye for detail and accuracy and you consistently deliver error-free work
  • Exceptional time management skills are critical to assist with prioritization, communication, and multi-tasking various projects under pressure will drive success in this role
  • Payroll Certification (GPMI, CPP, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of US, Australian and Singapore compliance / legislation
  • Strong knowledge of exempt and non-exempt payroll rules and regulations
  • Experience with robust HRIS and/or Payroll systems (specifically integrations of various HR/Payroll systems/Accounting)
  • Experience with EDI file feeds for payroll/benefits
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll and pension experience (401K and NQDC)
  • Excellent English communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Hands-on experience with Ceridian\xe2\x80\x99s Dayforce platform is a pre-requisite
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP\xe2\x80\x99s, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of Workday / Workday Payroll / SDWorx
  • A sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution and an ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines is required
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and able to work independently
