We are seeking a dedicated Java Developer to join our team for a 6-month contract in Toronto. The successful candidate will work on designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and APIs using Java. This role requires collaboration with frontend developers, product managers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Java, preferably Java 8
- Experience with REST web services
- Knowledge of Spring Boot and Core Java
- Ability to integrate with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong understanding of security and data protection best practices
- Experience with digital platforms
- Familiarity with third-party service integration
- Experience in optimizing application performance, scalability, and reliability
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and tools
