Canadian Home Caregivers is urgently hiring an experienced caregiver/healthcare aide who can speak Croatian, Serbian, or Bosnian to support elderly clients in South Calgary on an ongoing basis.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to seeniors in need. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the comfort and well-being of clients while promoting their independence and dignity. This role requires a nurturing attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to the needs of those under your care.

Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions. Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks. Communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals regarding client needs and progress. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel. REQUIREMENTS: Fluent in Croatian, Serbian, or Bosnian (

mandatory

) Experienced caregiver, HCA, or PSW (

mandatory

) Current First Aid/CPR an asset Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (or willingness to obtain) Compassionate, patient, and reliable Ability to work full-time equivalent hours on an ongoing basis

Skills

Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving. Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Basic knowledge of personal care techniques and health-related issues. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards clients of diverse backgrounds. Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Certification in CPR/First Aid is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided if necessary.
