Urban Water Modeller (intermediate)

Job Description


We currently have an opening in our Kelowna Office for an Intermediate Urban Water Modeller. You will have the opportunity to work on Water Modelling projects including, municipal linear infrastructure, Land Development and institutional facilities. You will have hands-on involvement in preparing reports, technical memoranda, studies, proposals, scheduling and budgeting for infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, capable of working independently with assistance from senior engineering staff. The core requirements for the role are exemplary communication skills and strong technical capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • A Civil Engineering Technology diploma or Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Registered or eligible to register as a Technician (CTech)/Technologist (AScT) with Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia or Eligible for professional licensing as a P.Eng.
  • Experience in hydraulic distribution modelling, in WaterCAD.
  • Experience in distribution water modelling in InfoWater an asset
  • Experience with design of water, sanitary and storm systems an asset
  • Experience in master planning/capital planning for water distribution systems
  • Skilled in the preparation of modelling documentation, technical memoranda and design reports.
  • Experience in budget compliance to meet financial objectives.
  • Participate in marketing strategies and business development with clients to procure business, including writing proposals.
  • Communicate effectively and clearly; both verbally and in writing with clients.
  • Coordinate sub-consultants\' activity on projects.
  • Execute projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.
  • Basic GIS skills
  • Valid driver\'s license
  • Willingness to travel throughout the province.
