JOB PURPOSE
The Respiratory Therapist-Operating Room is responsible for providing routine and specialized duties under the supervision of an anesthesiologist.
QUALIFICATIONS

• Completion of an accredited training course for Respiratory Therapists. Licensed with the New Brunswick Association of Respiratory Therapists.
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
• Ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Good work record.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Respiratory Therapist-Operating Room is responsible for:

• Performing or assisting with airway management and intubation
• Assisting with anesthetic induction
• Setting up and applying monitoring lines and equipment
• Performing delegated functions under supervision of an anesthesiologist
• Cleaning, maintaining and setting up specialized equipment
• Assisting in moving major equipment
